Kawartha Lakes, October 24, 2016: The Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative (KLHCI) and City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team are pleased to announce the recruitment of Dr. Cody Bowen. Dr. Bowen is joining the practice of Dr. Brian Fagan and both will care for Dr. Fagan’s patients.
KLHCI is pleased to have recruited Dr. Cody Bowen, who was born and raised in the City of Kawartha Lakes. Dr. Bowen received a Bachelor of Medical Science (Honors) from the University of Western Ontario in 2008, a Doctor of Medicine degree from Saba University School of Medicine in 2013, and completed his Family Medicine Residency at a Michigan State University affiliated program in Grand Rapids, Michigan in July of this year. Dr. Bowen, and his wife Kaja, are the proud parents of Aidan and have already established their home in Lindsay.
“It has been a pleasure to work with Dr. Bowen and Dr. Fagan to facilitate this recruitment. Dr. Bowen completed a number of medical electives in Lindsay during medical school and residency and I am very pleased that he has chosen to return home to practise,” states Cindy Snider, Recruitment and Retention Coordinator for KLHCI.
Dr. Fagan states, “I am pleased that Dr. Bowen has agreed to assist with the care of all my patients in my practice. I would like to thank KLHCI for all their assistance in facilitating Dr. Bowen’s arrival.”
Sheila-Mae Young, President of KLHCI, states that, “KLHCI would like to welcome home Dr. Bowen and wish him many years of satisfaction in the community.”
“We are very pleased Dr. Bowen is joining our family health team,” states Dr. Stephen Oldridge, President of the City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team and theam’s Executive Director, Mike Perry. “The patients will continue to have access to all our team’s other health professionals to help both Dr. Bowen and Dr. Fagan to provide the highest quality of care.”
Dr. Bowen will join the doctors of the City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team. Local doctors work with the team’s nurse practitioners, family health nurses, dietician, pharmacists, psychologist, clinical social workers, occupational therapist and respiratory therapist to provide patients with complete health care. The family health team also partners with local health organizations and offers a variety of health programs designed to help keep residents healthy.
